Cirque Du Soleil: Volta
Cirque du Soleil: Volta is “Energetic, urban and contemporary, VOLTA is a captivating voyage of discovery that showcases never-before-seen under the Big Top acrobatics in a visually striking world. Driven by a stirring melodic score and inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of street sports, VOLTA is about finding yourself and unveiling your personal powers. VOLTA is a story of transformation. It is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s true potential, and recognizing one’s own power to make it possible. Ultimate freedom comes with self-acceptance, and with the liberation of the judgement of others.
Waz is a gameshow contestant that has lost touch with himself. He’s ashamed of who he is because of his difference. Follow him as he enters the show in search of fame, thinking that this will bring him love and acceptance from others. What he will find is something else: that fame is not the answer. If fame doesn’t provide freedom and acceptance, then what does? Will Waz reconnect with his true self – and stand up for all that makes him truly unique? Will he realize that his difference is what makes him extraordinary?” -https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/volta

Golden Dragon Parade
Golden Dragon Parade : In celebrating over one hundred years of tradition, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles presents the 121st Annual Golden Dragon Parade. With over thousands and thousands of individuals lining the parade route and thousands viewing the telecast each year, this colorful celebration along North Broadway in Chinatown has become the premier cultural event in the Southern California Asian-American Community.
Since the mid-1980s, the Golden Dragon Parade has expanded to include almost two dozen floats, multiple marching bands, government officials, various dignitaries, entertainers, local business leaders, and cultural groups. The parade theme emphasizes ethnic diversity, Chinese culture, and exposure to Chinese-American businesses. The parade continues to be a rich and diverse experience for Angelenos of all ages and ethnicities.
The day of the Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday of the year for nearly 1.5 million persons of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese descent in Southern California. It is celebrated with colorful festivals, parades, and most importantly, large family gatherings. It is also a time when ancestors are fondly remembered and families give thanks for their blessings. Red packets of money (Lai see or Hung bao) and firecrackers add fun and excitement to the Chinese New Year celebration.

Lover’s Rock at Grand Park
Lover’s Rock at Grand Park – Rooted in the reggae sounds of the 1970s and in Caribbean nightclubs in London, Lovers Rock is more than a music genre—it serves as a space of love, identity and resistance, fostering a nuanced intersection of gender and expression. Grand Park celebrates Lovers Rock and transforms the 12-acre urban oasis with mood lighting and curated music into the premier date spot for couples celebrating Valentine’s Day on a budget. Angelenos can bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a romantic evening at tables for two around Grand Park’s iconic Arthur J. Will Memorial fountain followed by a moonlit walk throughout the park’s Olive Court amidst the historic views of Los Angeles City Hall. Guests will experience special music curated to enhance the park’s beautiful surroundings.
DJ Linafornia will serve as the evening’s selector to help get Angelenos in the mood with sweets and treats available for purchase from various food trucks, including Cerda Vega serving their specialty, Birria de Res. Couples can capture their romantic moments while friends snap their groupfies with a complimentary photo booth. Guests and their pets are encouraged to take a moonlit walk through the park’s Olive Court amidst the historic views of Los Angeles City Hall surrounded by mood lighting and a Lovers Rock playlist featuring past and present artists, including Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy, Chronixx, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu, Wayne Wonder and The Internet
