The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire

The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire: Begun in 1963 in Agoura, near Malibu, to create “living history” for school children and their families, the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire has grown into an annual interactive playground and gallery for over 200,000 participants and guests. It has given birth to an industry nationwide and this year is more fun and exciting than ever.

This Southern California Faire has traveled a bit since Agoura. The Glen Helen Pavilion provided two different settings in Devore (in San Bernadino County) where the Faire spent many years. Shortly after the turn of the Century, the Faire moved back to Los Angeles County, to its current home at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, a United States Army Corps of Engineers’ Facility and a unit of County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation System in Irwindale, CA.

Since its inception, more than 5 million people from around the world have visited Southern California’s Renaissance Pleasure Faire, averaging approximately 20,000 each weekend.

Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetary

It isn’t summer in L.A. without Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary! Each year, Cinespia brings classic cult favorites to the hallowed resting place of such Hollywood greats as Rudolph Valentino and Bugsy Siegel. This year’s first batch of screenings includes The Neverending StoryDriveAlmost Famous and Casablanca.

Angelenos line up for hours to partake in the concept—and to enjoy DJ sets, dance parties, sleepovers and more magical mischief otherwise strictly forbidden behind the cemetery gates. It’s an L.A. rite of passage, a quintessential summer experience and one of the best film venues in the city. Just be sure to get your ticket early, arrive early (doors open at 6:45pm), pee early… it’s getting a bit overcrowded, to say the least.

Eat Drink Vegan @ Pasadena Rose Bowl | Pasadena | California | United States

Eat Drink Vegan

Eat Drink Vegan started with humble beginnings: originally called the Vegan Beer and Food Festival, it was a small gathering in The Roxy Theatre parking lot on the Sunset Strip back in 2009. Nic Adler, vegan and owner of The Roxy, had a vision for a vegan beer festival where plant-based beer drinkers could enjoy a day of celebration that was worry-free of animal product.

#VeganBeerFest caught fire — and quickly grew and expanded. Today, Eat Drink Vegan is known as the “Vegan Coachella” for devoted fans across the country — it’s held at the Rose Bowl Stadium and Brookside Golf Course, and presented by Goldenvoice.

A Curated Experience

The festival features over 100 highly curated restaurants & food vendors, 250+ vegan beverages, and a plant-based marketplace that showcases everything from clothing & candles to packaged foods & skin care. And since 2015, EDV has expanded to include some additional events across the Los Angeles area, like LA’s Best Vegan Tacos, & the Vegan Grilled Cheese Block Party.

The Best is Yet to Come

As EDV has grown from 400 attendees to over 10,000, the heart of who we are has never changed. EDV is a fun, safe venue to discover and enjoy the best plant-based food and drinks, great music, and a beautiful gathering of community.
