LA Pride Festival 2019 It’s that time of year again! Get ready for the 2019 LA Pride Festival in West Hollywood, presented by Verizon!

We’ve got a diverse group of LGBTQ+ and allied performers taking the stage at the 2019 LA Pride Festival in West Hollywood, presented by Verizon. GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar Meghan Trainor and British electronic pop trio Years & Years will headline this year’s festival on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 — joined by GRAMMY® Award winner Ashanti, plusAmara La Negra, Dej Loaf, Greyson Chance, MNEK, Pabllo Vittar, Ah-Mer-Ah-Su, and more!

2019 LA Pride Festival Full Line Up

Regardless of genre, this year’s performers — a collaboration with Club Papi and BASH LA — will come together on the Festival’s two main stages to embrace this year’s theme, #JUSTUNITE.

For the first time, LA Pride and the City of West Hollywood are teaming up to host the first-ever“Pride on the Boulevard,” a free block party of entertainment, vendors, exhibitors, non-profit organizations, rides and attractions, beer gardens, and more along Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood (between Robertson and Hancock). This free-to-the-public event will take place on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Even more, we’ve created a new Friday night program on June 7 in West Hollywood Park as the official kick-off to LA Pride Weekend 2019. This free-to-the-public evening will feature:

  • An official Opening Ceremony presented by Johnson & Johnson, including presentations by leaders advocates for LA’s LGBTQ+ community
  • Non-stop entertainment: a Weho Vogue Ball & Drag Show, a night of dancing, music from local DJs, and special surprise guests
  • A 60-minute concert by the one and only Paula Abdul powered by Caesars Entertainment!

This year, to help create a better event experience, LA Pride is implementing the following changes:

  • Ticketing and guest services will be relocated to Santa Monica Boulevard, between Palm and Hancock Avenues, to expedite entrance into the festival grounds and reduce wait times
  • New and additional street closures are being added to help improve the flow
  • Increased and improved security teams with specialized training for the LGBTQ+ community
  • Improvements to ADA implementation and accessibility for all guests, with extra focus on safe access and space throughout the festival for those guests requiring additional assistance. All ADA compliance and improvements will be overseen by Accessible Festivals.

And as in years past, anyone interested in volunteering four hours of their time to helping make the celebration go off without a hitch will, in turn, receive a complimentary single-day ticket to the festival. Volunteer opportunities will be available beginning in April. Check back at lapride.org soon.

Queen Mary’s All-American 4th of July

Queen Mary’s All-American 4th of July Celebration is from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019. The red, white, and blue ship-wide event offers multiple stages of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, carnival games, patriotic-themed food, razzle-dazzle drinks from multiple bars, a vintage aircraft flyover, and culminates with one of SoCal’s top 4th of July fireworks displays above America’s “shining seas.”

Independence Day revelers will voyage throughout the Queen Mary’s many decks and salons for a day of celebrations with live music performances, DJs, dueling pianos, dancing, and more! On the Verandah Deck, DJ Rod Epic will bring the house down with original mixes to get the dance party going, then guests can rock out to rock-interpretations of Crowd Theory as they continue the festivities with a mix of alternative, classic rock and modern pop.

Stroll into the Royal Salon to sing along with the crowd as the Traveling Keys Dueling Pianos light up and dazzle the stage, while the Kids Imagine Nation is sure to impress even the youngest of guests with a high-energy, interactive musical dance party. Attendees can kick-up their boots with DJ Coral and Morgan Leigh Band in the Queen’s Salon for some country fun, or visit the decks and ballrooms to marvel in patriotic strolling performances by both Cirque Berzerk and Love in the Fire, including themed magicians, holiday-inspired baton twirlers, and unicyclists.

Grab the kids for a full day of fun with strolling jugglers, stilt walkers, balloon artists, and more. The Kid Zone on the Sports Deck will offer inflatables for tons of bouncy fun and the sounds of Dj Mikey O, while down at the wharf, guests can play carnival games and try their hand at the dunk tank.

VIP ticket holders will have access to premium firework viewing and two exclusive areas, the Verandah Grill (VIP Lounge) and Britannia Salon. In the Britannia Salon VIP guests can sing along to classic songs as the American Bombshells perform a modern day twist on an All-American tribute to troops, veterans, families and friends alike. The party never stops for VIPs—guests can then put on their dancing shoes and watch in amazement as the Straytones show off their powerhouse vocals, shredding violin and high-energy acoustic rhythm to everyone’s favorite Motown and Oldies dance hits.

Above the Queen Mary, attendees will be treated to a breathtaking air-show by the flight team of John Collver and Brad Lang, both professional pilots with over 35 years’ experience. Together the two will salute Independence Day and demonstrate the sights and sounds of past generations in the WWll-era Marine Corps T-6 Texans.

Dubbed Southern California’s top 4th of July fireworks display, the 15-minute long mega fireworks show will culminate the festivities at 9 p.m. in sync to patriotic music. This year’s ship-wide celebration promises to be spectacular as the Cunard Line’s namesake Queen Elizabeth will greet the Queen Mary in the harbor for a “Royal Rendezvous” before the fireworks show. This reunion will mark the third time the sister ships have crossed paths since 1967; when the original Queen Elizabeth was still in commission.

The Queen Mary’s All-American 4th of July Celebration will run from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tickets start at $29 online for children ($39 day-of) and $49 online per adult ($59 day-of). The VIP-patriot pass is $119 ($129 day-of) for ages 4+ and includes festive party favors and additional access to the VIP Lounge, the Britannia Salon, and premium firework viewing. Hotel and cabana packages are also available. For more information, schedule of activities and to purchase tickets visit queenmary.com/events/july-fourth/.

This is one of the highlight events of LA Pride Week 2019 and definitely should not be missed. Be sure to arrive early to get a great spot along the parade route! 4th of July at Dodger Stadium – Time Out says: Dodger Stadium hosts fireworks throughout the season, but they do it up extra on the 4th of July. Buy tickets to see the team take on the Pittsburgh Pirates (on either the 3rd or 4th) and then stick around for a fireworks show you can see from your seat; line up on the field level near the end of the game and you can even watch from the outfield grass.
