OUE Skyspace at the US Bank Center

There has just become a new reason to visit LA, and its not because #Adele is coming to town! It’s the all new OUE Skyspace at the top of the US Bank Center in downtown LA. Located on the 69th and 70th floor of the building, roughly 1,000 feet above the city (YIKES!), it’s California’s highest observation deck with a 360-degree panoramic view of all of Los Angeles. Ranging from the coastal sights of Santa Monica and Venice, to the famous Hollywood sign, to the breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Mountains (some of which are still snow capped). The best part of it all, is the Skyslide. A glass encased slide, approximately 4 feet wide, on the OUTSIDE of the building, that brings you from the 70th floor down to the 69th floor! Would you do it?! It’s been the talk of the town for months now, and has already been visited by hundreds, including Kendell Jenner, Kim Kardashian-West, and Jaden Smith to name a few during the opening party.

Naturally, I had to go and check this place out for myself, and it definitely lived up to its expectations! Our first stop was roughly 50 or so floors up, at the Digital Interactive Level. Here, we were instantly amused with beautiful panoramic videos of the city. Once walking past that, there were a couple other interactive exhibits such as the Infinity Mirror that creates reflections upon reflections, and the Silhouette Wall which uses pixels to create reflective images based on body movement. I think I had more fun with the exhibits than the kids before me! Once you are finished walking around there, you get back into the elevator and continue your adventure to the top.

Once the doors to the elevator opened and we stepped out, my eyes grew big and I was in awe with what I saw. The view from the top truly is a sight to see! We started out by walking the entire 360-degrees, window to window. Then, we went down to both of the observation decks, which are outside, and took it all in. You can literally see ALL of LA and more! Its breathtaking! Pictures don’t even do it justice. It’s just something you have to see for yourself.

The last thing on the agenda was the Skyslide, but because this place is the newest, biggest attraction to hit the city, AND we went on a Saturday evening, the line was extremely long, and we had a show to get to. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to experience the slide. I did enjoy standing at the bottom, watching others slide down with fear and excitement, and had the opportunity to ask a few people before and after, what they thought of it. With no surprise, most of the people I talked to were nervous and a little scared while standing in line with anticipation. However, once at the bottom, they all shared that it was fun and exciting, and the ones that were able to keep their eyes open, said that it was an unbelievable experience!

Tickets for this start at just $19 and range all the way to $59, depending on the type of tickets you buy. They only sell a certain amount of tickets per every half hour, so make sure you buy your tickets in advance. ESPECIALLY if you want to go between 5-8pm, as it seems to be the hottest time to go, and tickets sell out fast.

So, plan your vacation accordingly! Book your room with us here at The Dixie Hollywood, and get your tickets for OUE Skyspace. You won’t be disappointed with either!
